CSDC has many things to be thankful for this year. We are thankful for our awesome new facility and to all our students and parents who, without your support, we would not be here.
Thank you for a great start to the new dance season.

Since opening its doors in 1997, Center Stage Dance Company has committed itself to the children and community in our area. Owned and operated by Lori Phelps, Center Stage Dance Studio maintains a strong belief in "giving back". We have held fund raisers for numerous local and national charities. Center Stage regularly donates to the Make A Wish Foundation, Toys for Tots, the Boys and Girls Club, the Child Abuse and Neglect Council of America, local families, and have sent care packages to our troops overseas. In the fall of 2000, we combined with another studio to create an original Christmas show to raise money for two local families for the Christmas holiday.
It is a priority at Center Stage Dance Company to continually find and present every available opportunity to our dancers. To this end, Center Stage Dance Company has brought in such nationally-known dancers and choreographers such as: Rhonda Miller (NYC and LA), Ann Cooley (NYC), Whitney Osentoski (NYC), Kyle Vandemark (LA), Brian Drogosh (LA). This fall, Josh Ekblom, world-renowned NYC dancer and choreographer, conducted two workshops at Center Stage studio for our upcoming dance year.
In addition, we have taken several group dance-focused study trips: to Chicago to see "A Christmas Spectacular" where we had a backstage tour with Ann Cooley, a New York City Rockette. A 2000 trip, to New York City, where our dancers were given the privilege to dance at the Broadway Dance Center as well as tickets to two head-line Broadway shows, "Fosse" and "Music Man". During this trip, we also toured New York City with Michael Goddard, a professional dancer who offered our Center Stage dancers tips and advice on how to become a dancer in NYC. Most recently in December 2007, Center Stage and its dancers were invited to return to NYC for a long weekend of dance classes at the Broadway Dance Center, attended "A Christmas Spectacular", and had a private brunch with Ann Cooley, Jen Werner, and Josh Ekblom, all of whom are professional dancers and choreographers currently living in New York City.
Our dancers have competed and gained local and national recognition in the Detroit-Metro area as well as in: Gatlinburg, Tennessee; Cincinnati and Sandusky, Ohio; Chicago, Illinois; Las Vegas, Nevada.
We have performed at Oakland University and have been invited to audition for Star Search, where we have received two call-backs.
